Cristiano Ronaldo has topped the chart for the highest-earning athletic on Instagram during COVID-19 lockdown.
According to Attain, the Portugal and Juventus forward is estimated to have made about £1.9 million over the two month period.
Ronaldo, who is the most-followed person on the photo-sharing app platform with over 222 million followers commanded the highest fee at an estimated £470,584 per sponsored post, of which he made four on his page during the lockdown period of March 12 to May 14.
Barcelona’s star Lionel Messi sits 2nd earning roughly £1.3m from his four sponsored posts.
Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior widely known as Neymar Jr. came second on the chart. The Brazilian and PSG forward earned an estimated £1.2m with four sponsored posts.
Other football icons that made the top-10 include former England and Manchester United star David Beckham (£405,000), AC Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic (£184,000) and São Paulo FC’s Dani Alves (£134,000).
