There have been photos circulating on social media that purport that the government of Ghana through the Ghana Education Service have introduced approved uniforms for public school teachers.
Although Ghana Education Service have not confirmed or denied these rumours, a section of teachers believed getting a uniform has no impact on teaching and learning.
Read some reactions from Twitter below:
@geenaeus wrote: ”GES with their absurdity.. what the heck is that uniform about? Another procurement contract for an NPP party faithful? First it was a new ugly uniform for the school pupils and now another for the teachers. I only cry for the teachers who have been reduced to toddlers.”
@Charles88999957: ‘‘Ahaaaa! When did teachers become Prison Officers? At least they’ve their Uniforms already, is GES not aware? But, Hon.Min of Education, where are the text books; 3 good ye e ears, no textbooks, and all you could think of are Uniforms? Ebeiii ye eiii, eba asem su ni! Dabi da!”
@marcusadampah: ‘‘Akufo-Addo and GES only want to make money from teachers with this so called uniform. Tweeeeaaa”
@AdikuSelorm: ”’It’s Akufo-Addo and the Ministry of Education. GES is only being used as the face. If GES were to be a beneficiary, major stakeholders such as the teacher unions would have been consulted”
