German-born Ghanaian professional footballer Kevin-Prince Boateng has released his first hip-hop track and video, titled ‘King’ with the stage name Prin$$ Boateng.
The midfield icon currently plays for Italian club Sassuolo and will continue to do music alongside.
The chorus of the song features Boateng declaring “I live my life like a king/living with no pressure/hustle like I don’t know better”.
The former AC Milan star is not the first Serie A star to make the move into music, as Dani Osvaldo left football to pursue his passion for rock music.
Boateng has previously featured for clubs like Hertha BSC, Tottenham Hotspur, Portsmouth, Las Palmas, AC Milan, Genoa, Schalke 04 and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Boateng has not featured for the Ghana Black Stars after was sent home and suspended from the Ghana squad for disciplinary reasons. He was alleged to have verbally abused manager James Kwesi Appiah during a team meeting.
He later hit back at the Ghana Football Association, describing the Black Stars’ organisation during the tournament as “amateurish”.
