Venus Films sued for $700,000, accused of stealing movie

The management of Perfect Entertainment, producers of the movie titled ‘’Perfect Love’’ movie have sued the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Venus Films Production, Mr Abdul Salam Mumuni for $700,000 for stealing their movie titled Perfect Love and further sold it to ROK TV, owned by Iroko TV, a channel on DSTV and GO TV.

Mr Mumuni, who is Iroko TV’s representative in Ghana is reported to have sold the said movie to ROK TV, without the consent of the management of Perfect Entertainment.

According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Perfect Entertainment, Mr Nana Kwabena Adu Acheampong, his outfit is demanding $700,000 from Mr Abdul Salam for selling a film property which does not belong to him and not seeking consent from the rightful owner.

He added that the CEO of Venus films production has admitted selling the movie to ROK TV but wants an out of court settlement.

Per this development, Mr Acheampong has, therefore, cautioned the general public or any organization doing or plan to do any business with Mr Mumuni to take extra precaution.

A Kumasi high court is expected to sit on the second hearing of the case on Friday, August 24, 2018.
