Shatta Wale’s ShattaFest in the United Kingdom has been cancelled after police shut down the event on grounds of Health, Safety and Security Concerns.
According to a statement released by UK police, the event was called off after the venue exceeded its approved capacity, prompting authorities to intervene to ensure public safety following a stampede.
Organisers of the event also released a statement confirming the disruption, urging patrons not to travel to the festival grounds while emergency services managed the situation.

It has also been alleged that there was a reported gas explosion near the site as well as a stampede at the venue due to inadequate entry arrangements by the organisers.
The Metropolitan Police present at the event announced the cancellation of the event due to health and safety concerns and ordered an immediate dispersal of the crowd.
A police officer who spoke on camera stated that “there was an accident, a stampede that led to a lot of people getting hurt, and for that reason and for public safety, it has to be shut down.”
A statement from the Metropolitan Police reads:
Officers are at Copthall Playing Fields, where Ghana Party in the Park has been cancelled after an overcrowding issue at the entrance saw several people sustain non-life-threatening injuries. Speculation about a stabbing is inaccurate. Please help us by avoiding the area.
