Information reaching Airnewsonline.com indicates popular Kumasi Asante Kotoko fan Seidu Mba has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of two Canadian girls in Kumasi last week.
The two women, 19 and 20 years old, are volunteers with Youth Challenge International, a Toronto-based international development organisation were kidnapped at Royal Golf Club at Ahodwo, a suburb of Kumasi.
The ladies, who were kidnapped at gun point, were rescued today June 12 by a police SWAT team.
Seidu Yakubu Mba, who is reportedly the ringleader of the kidnappers has been airlifted from Kumasi to Accra, is said to be a popular fan of Kotoko football club.
Seidu Mba is famous for chasing former Kotoko coach Zravdko Lugarusic from the club’s training grounds. He accused him of poor performance as the coach of Kotoko.
The SWAT team of the Ghana Police Service in conjunction with the security experts from Canada has so far arrested 8 people in connection with the kidnapping.
The suspects include five Ghanaians and three Nigerians.
