Ghanaian YouTuber, Elorm Ababio, popularly known as Ama Governor has been trending on social media since yesterday after she was denied a call to be a member of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA).
Although she has successfully completed the professional law program and passed her interview, the General Legal Council (GLC) has refused her the call to be a bar member, when her colleagues are formally admitted to the profession.

According to the GLC, they received a complaint from a “concerned citizen” alleging that Ama Governor ‘lacks good character’ and has breached the Code of Conduct for the Students of the Ghana School of Law, hence, should not be made a Lawyer in Ghana.
See copy of the complaint below;

Citi FM’s Richard Dela Sky was alleged to be the ‘concerned citizen’ behind the pseudonym “Hajia Siduri”.
However, he has denied any allegations of authoring, authorization & knowledge of the viral letter that petitioned the GLC to ban Ama Governor’s call to the bar.
He tweeted on: ”My attention has been drawn to a document in circulation in which the author has asked the General Legal Council to investigate a person said to be a student of the Ghana School of Law.
To avoid doubt, the number displayed is my number, but I DID NOT AUTHOR THE DOCUMENT IN QUESTION. ALSO, I AM NOT CONNECTED TO ANYONE INVOLVED WITH THE SAID DOCUMENT.
I have since drawn the attention of the relevant authorities to the issue for the appropriate redress.
