Popular Kumasi-based Sports Journalist and presenter King Eben has officially resigned from Wontumi FM/TV.
There were earlier rumours of the astute sports presenter leaving Wontumi TV/FM after significantly contributing to the station’s growth. Although the exact reasons for his departure remain unclear.
The presenter confirmed his departure from the media outfit in a statement on Monday, January 6, 2025, saying;
“This is a message for many moments over the past years, I never thought would be writing but certainly, as Geoffrey Chaucer wrote in his poem, “ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO AN END”. I always envisaged leaving on the right terms, the right way and at the right time – THAT’S NOW… ”
“I would like to express my unwavering gratitude and appreciation to Chairman Wontumi, the CEO (Sister Afia) and the entire staff of Wontumi Multimedia. It has been an incredible 4 and a half years working with this wonderful family.
While the journey has been demanding, it has been immensely rewarding working with the father of the house, Chairman Wontumi. I will forever be grateful for the guidance and opportunities given me. I move on from Wontumi Multimedia, not with a heavy heart but with a sense of pride, reminiscing all the wonderful moments shared together”, King Eben added.
He also hinted at a possible new destination.
“Now, it’s the right time to undertake a new challenge, to push myself again in a new environment. I will announce my next destination soon.”
It is rumoured King Eben has signed a contract with Lawson FM, also located in Kumasi, to continue his journalism career.
