Boxing Tokyo 2020: Watch How The Streets Of Bukom Celebrated Samuel Takyi’s Victory At 3am

Despite the time, the people of Bukom trooped in the streets to celebrate Samuel Takyi’s victory at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Oympics Games

The 20-year-old native of Bukom victory against Columbia’s Ceiber Avila in the men’s featherweight quarter-final bout (52-57kg) has guaranteed Ghana of their first Olympic medal since 1992.

At 3am in Ghana, the people of Bukom stayed glued to their TV sets to watch the bout.

Samuel Takyi is set to face Ragan Duke of the United States on Tuesday 3rd August in the Semi-final 1 bout.

Citi TV’s Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo, sharing the video on social media wrote:

”The streets of Accra at 3am after Samuel Takyi’s win. This is what it means to the people. This is why we love sport. It’s 3am but look at that!!”
