Farmer donates 20,000 yams to support Free SHS Policy

Farmer donates 20000 yams to support Free SHS Policy

A Farmer in Drobo in the Jaman South Municipality has donated 20,000 tubers of yam to support the Free Senior High School Program.

The farmer revealed that one of the components of the Free SHS program is feeding and has therefore decided to help feed students in senior high schools.

According to the benevolent farmer, Mr Kyere this gesture of his is aimed at helping the policy become sustainable.

He added that this is the first of many to come as he plans on doing another donation next year.

“The Free Senior High School programme is a nice initiative by the government, the least we can do is to support it. This is my contribution towards the programme and I promise to give more next year.”

Receiving the donation, Mr. Kusi Boadum, the Bono Region Free SHS coordinator thanked him and assured him that the yam will be evenly distributed to the various schools.
