The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of Dery Joseph, an Electoral Commission (EC) officer stationed at the Kintampo South Constituency in the Bono East Region.
According to a statement by the Ghana Police Service, the suspect is being investigated for issuing approximately 15 ballot papers to voters at the Ampesika-Bayere polling station, which reportedly omitted the first presidential candidate on the ballot.
“…Dery is under investigation for issuing about 15 ballot papers to voters that omitted the first presidential candidate at the Ampesika-Bayere polling station” a statement from the Ghana Police Service said.
The police stated their commitment to upholding electoral laws, saying that any individual found to have acted unlawfully would face the full consequences of the law.
