The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has revealed that it has closed down the East Legon Branch of Marwako Restaurant after taking notice of complaints from the public about suspected food poisoning.
Marwako, a fast-food eatery in Accra has taken over the Twitter trends after several tweeps complained of getting food poisoning after eating there.
A user by the name of Edward Elohim tweeted that the fast-food service had given him and several other people food poisoning.
”Nyaho clinic apparently has over 70 patients who all got sick from Marwako. this is crazy”, he tweeted.
According to reports, several others have also been hospitalised with many of the alleged victims referencing the eatery’s East Legon branch as the possible source of their discomfort.
@Afua_Bour also tweeted: ”This is crazy because I’ve at least 5 children turn up at the ER since Sunday who went out to eat at Marwako over the weekend and they’re all on admission”.
