The self-acclaimed Global Ambassador for the United Nations (UN), Kwame Fordjour, now known as Dr UN has become an overnight celebrity after scamming top celebrities in Ghana.
On Friday, August 28, 2020, Dr Kwame Owusu Fordjour organised an award dubbed the 7th Global Leadership Service To Humanity award. At the awards, Dr UN gave out plaques which had “UN Kofi Annan Excellence Awards” inscribed on them in a bid to draw a link between the scheme, the UN, and the late Kofi Annan.
However, checks conducted by ‘Investigative journalists’ on social media proved this award to be fake. It has turned out that Kwame Fordjour, who holds himself as PhD holder (doctor), has no connections with the United Nations or Kofi Annan.
In a video sighted by Airnewsonline.com, the con-artist was seen bragging how scammed these celebrities and top politicians. According to him, he paid Multimedia Group’s DJ Black GH¢10, 000 for a 45 seconds commercial.
He also claimed Ghana’s finest rapper Sarkodie deserves the award because he is the king of rap.
Other top celebs and personalities scammed by Dr UN include D-Black, Hon. Dr Okoe Boye, TV3’s Berla Mundi, Professor Ebenezer Oduro (Vice-Chancellor Legon), Nathaniel Atoh (Joy FM), Mr S. K. Boafo. Board Chair (Mineral Commission and Former Minister), Kwadwo Safo Jnr. ( CEO, Kantanka Group of Companies), and many more.
