The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Angel Group of Companies, Dr Kwaku Oteng has finally broken his silence after radio talk show host Captain Smart was suspended from his post at the Accra-based Angel FM.
The news of his suspension was brought to public notice on Thursday, May 6, 2021, by IMANI chief, Mr. Franklin Cudjoe. According to him, Smart was suspended over his ‘usual critical commentary on national affairs’.
Later on, the General Manager of Angel FM, Kwadwo Dickson, confirmed the suspension of Captain Smart and said the reason for his suspension is that he has “spoken against government officials such as President Akufo-Addo, Vice-President Dr Bawumia, Allan Kyeremateng and the IGP.”

However, Dr Kweku Oteng who was speaking during an interview with ABN’s General Manager Kojo Dickson on the station’s midday news revealed that the highly respected presenter was suspended not for being critical on national issues but for his continuous refusal to listen to his advice after cautioning him to stop using his show to drag the name of notable personalities in the mud.
Captain Smart, born Blessed Godsbrain Smart, has formerly worked with Kessewa Radio, Fox FM and Otec FM all in the Greater Ashanti Region.
He was the host of Adom FM and Adom TV a subsidiary of the multimedia group morning show – Dwaso Nsem segment – Fabewoso. He worked with the station for seven years. His consistency and great oratory skills contributed to success in broadcasting with multimedia from 2013 to 2020.
