Chelsea stop Manchester City’s unbeaten run as Liverpool remain top

Goals from N’Golo Kante and David Luiz helped Chelsea became the first team to beat Manchester City in the Premier League since April after a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

N’Golo Kante produced an emphatic finish at the end of the first half to stun a City side who had been dominant all evening.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri had earlier said that he had no idea on how to beat undefeated table-toppers Manchester City.

He said: “I’ve lost every match against Pep Guardiola,” he replied, “so I don’t know! You’ll have to ask someone else!”

After his team’s brilliant second half performance, he surely knows how to stop Pep Guardiola’s side.

Liverpool are now the table-toppers of the Premier League after their earlier comfortable win over Bournemouth as Pep Guardiola’s plans for an unbeaten league season fell apart.
