Veteran highlife musician, Gyedu Blay-Ambolley has said that Bisa Kdei is a better musician than Tinny and Michael Owusu Addo also known as Sarkodie.
According to the high-life legend, the two can best be described as rappers and not musicians because they cannot put sounds together to make music.
Ambolley, speaking on Touch of Class on Class91.3FM, on Thursday, 10 May 2018 advised the media to stop referring to Sarkodie as a musician as according to him, Bisa Kdei deserves the title more.
“Many a time, I see the media calling maybe Sarkodie a musician or Tinny a musician, ‘NO’ they’re rappers. They’re not musicians…,” he told show host Natalia Andoh.
To him, Sarkodie does not fit the description of a musician because he does not compose music.

“Musicians are people who are able to put sounds together and allow it to make sense for people to enjoy it,” he explained.
“I’ve done so much that they all look at me, my music that has been able to come out with, and been a composer means you’re capable of putting sounds together and allow it to make sense and the arrangement of it…,” he said.
To him, Bisa Kdei is the only artist doing the real and authentic Highlife and hence must be described as a musician.
“I can always pinpoint that Bisa Kdei is the artist on the right line because many of his peers were doing rap but Bisa Kdei came and proved them wrong. Any given time Bisa Kdei’ is performing, you see that the younger ones, the older, everybody gets involved, get up to dance and that is our heritage and am glad he did that.
“I remember I met him in New York and I told him not to deviate, he should keep on doing that,” he said.
