Shatta Wale seems to have extended his controversy from his colleagues in music to the Jubilee House.
The musician has described how angry and disappointed some members of the public are in President Akufo-Addo, for which reason they are not listening to him anymore.
Shatta Wale said in an interview with Joy FM on Friday, October 26, 2018, said:
“I just want to tell the president that the street is not listening to him anymore because they are angry and disappointed,”
This may seem to be a big surprise to some Ghanaians who know how close Shatta Wale is to the president.
However, it is noteworthy that Shatta Wale is known to be a man who speaks his mind fearlessly and does not mince words.
Shatta Wale’s words to President Akufo-Addo, come at when many Ghanaians are complaining of hardship and economic difficulty.
For instance, Many Ghanaians, especially business people, have decried the depreciation of the cedi against major foreign currencies, as lamented by Kennedy Agyapong and Abossey Okai traders.
Recently, fuel prices have gone up again – the second increment in just a month – leading to a public outcry on social media.
Shatta Wale, a friend of Akufo-Addo, was invited to the Jubilee House by the president last year on the occasion of the musician’s birthday.
He was given a designed coat of arms by the president as a gift, and he has mostly jabbed his fellow musicians with it, claiming prominence over them.
This prompted Samini, Stonebwoy and other musicians to beg the president to also invite them to the Jubilee House like he treated Shatta Wale, but their pleas are yet to be responded to by Akufo-Addo.
