Personnel of the Ghana Police Service in the Northern Region have abandoned their duty posts after an attack by Military Men, mynewsgh.com can report.
Reports indicate that the attack started after a soldier was arrested by the Police for assaulting his wife.
Available information indicates colleagues of the soldier in their bid to free their colleague assaulted the Police and some officials who went to free their colleague beaten to the pulp.
The soldiers after freeing their colleague are reported to have assaulted Police Personnel they came across in the Metropolis deployed to various duty posts.
In all, eight personnel are reportedly injured in the process whiles other police personnel have also left their posts and are currently hiding in various offices.
This is not the first time the Police and Military personnel have clashed in the Northern Region of the country.
In March this year, one Constable Kwaku Duaah of the Tamale Regional Police Headquarters was on Monday subjected to severe beatings by angry soldiers for reasons yet to be uncovered.
