The siblings have produced two children out of the relationship.

The two, identified as John Arthur, aka Ekow Ayiku, and his elder sister, Mary Arthur, alias Maame Adwoa, have been practising incest.

Mary is reportedly 25-years-old, while her brother, John, is reportedly two years younger.

The two siblings have been living together and having sexual escapades for years, prosecuting detective, Inspector John Asare Bediako, told the court.

The prosecution said the accused persons reside at Bronyibima, a suburb of Elmina in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality of the Central Region.

The case was reported to the police after Maame Adwoa refused to disclose the father of her children despite all efforts by her family.

However, the accused later confessed after the chief and elders of the community got involved in uncovering who the father of her children was.

According to a report by Joy FM, that the two siblings were on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, paraded through the Bronyibima town, as part of rituals to pacify the gods to avert any curse on the community.

In spite of this, some family members still decided to report the matter to the police who arrested the accused persons at the scene.

They were later handed over to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) in Cape Coast.
