The District Chief Executive for Asunafo South in the Brong Ahafo Region, Osei Bonsu Snr, has given Police in his district the opportunity to shoot any person who attacks the police.
Osei Bonsu Snr made this known to the media after the handover of a police station at Anwiam.
“Any civilian who attacks the police should be shot because we don’t have to take things for granted. Because the way these people are harassing the policemen in fact if they sit down and say they are from our area so we would not mind them they would take over the police.”
“So we have told them that anyone who attacks the police should be shot that what we have told they have also adhered to our advice,” Mr. Bonsu noted.
The Goaso Divisional Police Commander ACP Ebenezer Larbi who received the keys to the police post on behalf of the police command called for an end to interference in their operations.
Anwiam and its environs are noted for armed robbery and hooliganism in the region with the stretch between Kukuom and Bibiani recording many robberies over the years.
