Italian professional footballer and OGC Nice striker Mario Balotelli Barwuah has taken to Instagram to proclaim that he’s proud to be a Ghanaian for that matter an African.
Mario noted that even though he’s proud to be an Italian, he’s also proud to be an African for that matter a Ghanaian.
The former AC Milan striker posted on Instagram:
“I always say that I’m proud to be 🇮🇹 Italian but never forget that I’m AFRICAN, son of 2 immigrants and proud to be 🇬🇭 Ghanaian too. AFRICA IS MY ❤️🔥✊”
The 27-year-old was born to two Ghanaian immigrants, Thomas and Rose Bawuah in Italy and was adopted by Italian parents.
He had the chance to play for either the Black Stars of Ghana or the Azzurri of Italy, but he decided to play for the European Giants than for the Black Stars.
Despite snubbing Ghana, Balotelli has always showed his support for the Black Stars in major football tournaments, expressing his affection for the nation.
Mario Balotelli has played with clubs like Inter Milan, AC Milan, Manchester City, Liverpool and Nice, where is currently plying his trade.
