Presidential hopeful, Alban Bagbin, has said he will lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to win the 2020 general elections if elected as flag bearer and make sure the party stays in power for the next 16 years.

Mr Bagbin made the pledge when he submitted his nomination forms at the NDC headquarters in Accra on Monday, 17 December 2018.

Addressing his supporters after filing his nomination, the Nadowli Kaleo MP said:

“I want to pledge and I’ll give two major pledges. I pledge to reinvigorate and revitalise the party by bringing back the ideals that brought us together in the first place and I pledge to restore the power that has been taken away from the rank and file by empowering the branch and constituency members of the party to enable us win the 2020 general elections and remain in power for a minimum of 16 years.

“This is to ensure that our great party has time to fully implement its policies and programmes for the rapid development of the country.”

Mr Bagbin promised to “conduct a virtuous, decorous, stable, and mature campaign”, adding that he’ll continue to share his ideas and the right information with members of the party to enable them make the right decisions towards “restoring the lost glory of our party”.
