According to Mr Allotey Jacobs, all supporters in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who do not support former President John Mahama in the flag bearer race of the party, are witches and wizards.
“If you don’t support Mahama, then you are either a witch or a wizard”, he said in an interview at the International Trade Fair Centre on Saturday, 17 November 2018 during the NDC’s National Delegates’ Congress to elect new executives.
“Until Mahama will hold somebody’s hand and say that: ‘I’m done, so, vote for this man’, everybody will go for him. 90 per cent of the votes are for John Mahama”, Mr Allotey Jacobs told Accra-based Joy FM.
Mr Mahama is battling eleven other aspirants for the flag bearer slot ahead of the 2020 polls.
The other contenders include former Minister of Trade and Industries Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, former CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Sylvester Mensah, Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, former aide to former President Jerry John Rawlings in the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) Goosie Tanoh and former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) Prof Joshua Alabi.
The others include businessman Nurudeen Iddrisu, former Central Regional Minister Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, legal practitioner Elikplim Agbemava and Handyman Stephen Atubiga.
