Mother of the third-year student affiliated to the University Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) who is currently battling for his life at the University’s Hospital in Kumasi after he was brutalised by the school’s security last week Friday night, has rained curses on the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kwasi Obiri Danso.
She believes the Vice Chancellor is responsible for the brutality meted out to her innocent son resulting in him losing his memory, the reason for which the woman has called on the powerful river gods of her town to deal ruthlessly with the VC.
The victim, whose name has been withheld, lost his memory as a result of severe wounds he suffered on his head. The incident is reported to have happened last week Friday night.
11 other students, as well as one old student, were arrested on the same night by the campus security and later handed over to the KNUST Police.
They were accused of holding a vigil that was not sanctioned by authorities. The said vigil at the forecourt of University Hall was reportedly held peacefully.
But the mother of the victim wants the Vice Chancellor to pay dearly for the harm done to his son.
“If Prof. Obiri Danso was once a student of KNUST and was not brutalized during his time but he’s now supervising such brutalities on our children then may the [River god Boko] deal with him mercilessly.
If it’s raining and he hears the sound of it, if it’s raining and it drizzles on him, when thunder strikes or he’s thirsty and drinks water, may the deadly river god Boko strike him over the way he’s dealing with our children.
“Prof. Obiri Danso has compromised all the Police Officers at KNUST Police station including the Commander who’s my relative and has thrown my innocent son into cells.
I leave Obiri Danso in the care of river god Boko to do as it pleases to the Vice Chancellor.” The angry mother fumed.
