Double Track System: GES release timetable for 2018 academic year

The Ghana Education Service has released the timetable for the rollout of the Double Track system for the 2018 academic year.

This follows the release of the placements for candidates into Senior High Schools for the year 2018.

Meanwhile, candidates placed under the Green track indicating, the first track, will resume school on 11th September, while those placed on the Gold Track, indicating the second track are expected to resume school on 8th November 2018.

A statement from the Ghana Education Service says of the 521,710 registered candidates, 490,514 of them qualified to be placed. the statement added that 423,134 were automatically placed while 67,382 could not be matched with the schools they selected.

These unplaced candidates will, however, have to work on a self-placement to get themselves into schools.

  1. how were the groups of students divided into tracks. was it randomly or based on performance. Can a student change his/her track if possible, how?
