Chelsea accept Manchester United’s £66m Willian bid with Gary Cahill an option

Chelsea have reportedly accepted a bid of £66 million from Manchester United for the transfer of Willian according to reports in Italy.

But in a shocking twist, Chelsea’s defender Cahill has also been touted to join the Red Devils.

Mourinho is also desperate for a centre-back this summer after bids for Harry Maguire, Toby Alderweireld and Raphael Varane were rejected.

Willian has long been on Manchester United‘s wishlist, ever since the arrival of Jose Mourinho at the club in 2016.

Sources close to the Brazilian winger have revealed that he would be keen to reunite with the Portuguese boss as well.

The pair worked together when Mourinho was of course in his second spell as Chelsea manager, and when all other players at Stamford Bridge seemed to down tools, the Brazilian continued to work hard on the field.

The Old Trafford club has been linked with a move for the 29-year-old right winger in virtually every transfer window since, and reports in Italy now claim that they could be close to getting their man.

Italian publication Tuttosport claim that Manchester United have had a £66 million bid accepted for the attacker, who enjoyed his best ever season last time out, scoring 13 goals in all competitions.

Despite his impressive output, he wasn’t always the first choice under Antonio Conte and is now thought to be keen to leave the club, especially with the lack of Champions League football at Stamford Bridge this season.

He had also attracted interest from Barcelona, who saw three bids rejected, with Chelsea thought to have been hoping for a bidding war.

However, that didn’t materialise with the La Liga champions switching their attention to young Bordeaux forward Malcom, who moved to the Nou Camp earlier this week for €41 million.
