Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye, known in the Beast of No Nation movie as Strika who was spotted on the streets of Accra begging for survival has made headlines throughout the week.
Strika was one of the child actors in the movie and played the role of a child who has been emotionally broken by war and whittled down to a mindless killer. He became a good friend of Agu played by Abraham Attah in the movie.
The actor told the reporter who found him that he sells yam for a living and that although he was enrolled in a school by the producers of “Beast of No Nation”, he prefers to be on the streets rather than school.
Narrating the story Striker said he was paid $30,000 as his payment for starring in the award-winning movie which represented 1% of the total budget for the movie.
But according to the actor he has not yet seen the said money. As a result, he went back to the street to hustle on his own.
However, headmaster of the school he was enrolled in an interview revealed that Strika loves smoking marijuana and that the school can never admit such a character again.
Barely a week after Strika dominated headlines, the actor was spotted on the streets of Elmina where he and some other colleagues were dancing on the streets. Strika in the video could not hide his joy as he jammed to songs been played.
