A 52-year-old woman has been arrested by the Kasoa police near Accra possessing narcotic drugs. The suspect, Amina Saeed, a resident of Kasoa High Tension, was busted together with 24 others in the drug business.
According to a Citinewsroom.com report, Amina was allegedly possessing diversely packaged dried leaves suspected to be narcotics when she was picked up.
Police reports state that about 8 compressed slabs of dried leaves, some quantity of other drugs, and 147 wraps of a substance were concealed in a white and violet ‘buta’ of the suspect.
Amina Saeed’s arrest occurred in the early hours of Thursday during a police swoop by the Kasoa Divisional headquarters of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
On proceeding to the suspect’s house, a search conducted by the police led to the retrieval of the illegal imports of items.
The CID team further raided various notorious narcotic joints and succeeded in arresting 24 other suspects in various suburbs of Kasoa.
Meanwhile, the suspects are in police custody as police conduct further investigations into the matter.
